The Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Riau held a Socialization and Simulation on the Use of Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR) on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as an important educational effort to promote preparedness in facing fire emergencies. The event was carried out with great enthusiasm and active participation from representatives of administrative staff, cleaning service personnel, and the campus security team.
The guest speaker was Muhammad Fadil, popularly known as Fadil Bocu, an officer from the Fire and Rescue Department (DAMKAR) who has dedicated 17 years of service in the field of fire prevention and rescue.
Through this activity, participants were equipped with basic knowledge about the types of fire extinguishers (APAR), proper usage techniques, and evacuation procedures during a fire. In addition to the theoretical session, participants also took part in a hands-on simulation guided by the team from the Fire and Rescue Department (DAMKAR).
This initiative is expected to enhance the awareness and skills of the academic community at the Faculty of Economics and Business in responding to emergency situations and ensuring safety within the campus environment.
