The Development Economics Study Program at FEB UNRI holds another Visiting Lecturer on Sustainable Economics with the theme "Green Economy."

Pekanbaru, October 28, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Riau held a Visiting Lecturer event on a highly relevant and important topic for the future of the environment and economy, titled "Green Economy." The event featured the keynote speaker, Dr. Alin Halimatussadiah, SE, ME, a lecturer and researcher from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Indonesia, who is an expert in sustainable economics.

During the lecture held at the FEB Universitas Riau Auditorium, Dr. Alin discussed how the concept of green economy is crucial in addressing environmental issues while simultaneously promoting sustainable economic growth. She emphasized the importance of transitioning from a resource-intensive economy to one that is environmentally friendly and low in carbon emissions.

The event was attended by lecturers, students, and researchers from various fields who were eager to delve into the topic of the green economy. Dr. Alin also highlighted several steps that can be taken to encourage the transformation towards a green economy, such as the development of clean technologies, renewable energy policies, and the roles of both the government and the private sector in preserving environmental sustainability.

The Visiting Lecturer event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to directly discuss with Dr. Alin the challenges and opportunities of implementing a green economy in Indonesia. It is hoped that through this event, the younger generation will gain a deeper understanding of the urgency of sustainable economics and be inspired to contribute to building a greener and more sustainable future.
