Concluding 2025 with a Record of Excellence and Solidarity: The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Riau’s Year-End Reflection

Pekanbaru, December 31, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Riau (FEB UNRI), closes the year 2025 with a record of progress marked by achievements, learning, and tangible contributions to the academic community and society at large. This year has become an important milestone for FEB UNRI in strengthening the quality of education, expanding international networks, and fostering togetherness within the campus environment.

Since the beginning of the year, FEB UNRI has been actively involved in various strategic initiatives, including serving as the host of key forums such as the Pre-Congress Meeting of the Indonesian Association of Faculties of Economics and Business (AFEBI), which functioned as a platform for collaboration and the exchange of ideas among faculties of economics and business from universities across Indonesia.

A moment of great pride came when FEB UNRI obtained international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) for three undergraduate programs: Development Economics, Management, and Accounting. This achievement affirms that the quality of learning and academic activities at FEB UNRI meets internationally recognized standards, opening wider opportunities for research collaboration, student and faculty mobility, and enhancing the faculty’s attractiveness and competitiveness on the global stage.

FEB UNRI continues to expand its international network through academic activities such as the Riau International Conference on Economics, Business, and Accounting (RICEBA) and the Riau International Community Service (RICS) 2025. These events brought together international speakers and presenters, further strengthening FEB UNRI’s role as a platform for cross-disciplinary and cross-national dialogue.

Throughout 2025, FEB UNRI consistently strengthened both student activities and institutional development. In addition to the active Faculty English Club, which plays a key role in enhancing English proficiency and fostering interaction among students, FEB UNRI also achieved National Best Institutional recognition through its Institute for Scientific Studies and Information (LPII).

LPII FEB UNRI has been instrumental in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as mentoring creative ideas from students and members of the academic community. At the same time, it has served as a driving force in cultivating an innovation ecosystem within the faculty.

In 2025, FEB UNRI also launched and strengthened the Green Campus initiative as part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development through the Green Campus Movement. This movement includes the Tree Bank Program, the planting of various local endemic plant species in the FEB UNRI Forest, orchids and fruit seedlings across multiple areas of the campus, the establishment of a Waste Bank, education on reducing plastic waste, and recycling initiatives that transform waste into economically valuable products. These efforts represent tangible actions toward campus greening and active engagement of the academic community in environmental conservation, demonstrating that environmental initiatives at FEB UNRI go beyond campaigns and are implemented concretely on the ground.

This end-of-year reflection for 2025 marks an important moment for FEB UNRI to express gratitude for every achievement and lesson learned. Each activity and accomplishment attained throughout the year serves as a strong foundation for facing greater challenges in the year ahead.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the entire FEB UNRI family—faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, partners, and all parties who have supported our journey throughout the year. Wishing everyone a joyful welcome to the New Year 2026, with a renewed spirit, broader and more impactful collaboration, and ever-increasing achievements.

Warm regards,
