Pekanbaru, June 20, 2025 — As part of the follow-up activities in the series of World Environment Day commemorations, the UNRI FEB Green Campus team had the valuable opportunity to visit the Watershed Management Agency (BPDAS) of Indragiri Rokan on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Pekanbaru. The team was warmly welcomed by the Head of BPDAS, Mr. Eko Nurwijayanto, S.Hut., M.Si.
During this visit, the team discussed matters related to seedling donations for the FEB UNRI Tree Bank program, the enrichment of Riau's endemic tree species as part of efforts to preserve them, and the promotion of Riau's distinctive tree vegetation (endemics). Among the species mentioned were Nibung, Pulai, Kempas, Balam Suntai, Gerunggang, Kuras, Kulim, Tampui, Damar Mata Kucing, Tembesu, Meranti Paya, and Ulin.
The meeting resulted in a collaboration between FEB UNRI and BPDAS Indragiri Rokan to ensure the sustainable supply and enrichment of trees for the FEB UNRI Tree Bank.
