International Finance and Cross-Border Business Focus of Visiting Lecture at Universitas Riau
In line with discussions on International Finance and Cross-Border Business, the Development Economics Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Riau held a Visiting Lecture on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
This time, the Development Economics program invited a distinguished Professor in the field of international finance from neighboring Malaysia, Professor Dr. Hassanuddeen Abd Aziz. He is a Professor and Dean of the Kulliyah of Economics and Management Sciences at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The Visiting Lecture was organized with the aim of providing insights into international finance and the global economy.
"The event is held so that students in the Development Economics program can gain an understanding of the current state of the global economy, international finance, and cross-border business," said Dr. Yusni Maulida S.E., M.Si., Head of the Development Economics Department.
The event, which took place at the Yudisium Room of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Riau, began at 7:30 AM WIB and was a success, attracting enthusiasm from students across various semesters. Several faculty members also attended as part of the audience.
In addition, the event was attended by faculty members from the Development Economics department, including Dr. Yusni Maulida S.E., M.Si (Head of Department), Mardiana S.E., M.Si (Secretary of the Department), Dr. Any Widayatsari, SE, M.SE., M.Si, Dr. Eka Armas Pailis S.E., Bunga Chintia Utami, S.IP., ME, Supriani Sidabalok S.Pd.M.Si.MEc, Darmayuda S.E, M.Si, and Anthony Mayes, SE, M.Si.
During the lecture on international economics, the professor emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality of upskilled labor, products, and financial management to be competitive in the global economy. He also pointed out that while we are surrounded by foreign products, we actually have the ability to compete because of our many advantages in natural resources.
