Pekanbaru, January 19, 2026 — Universitas Riau (UNRI) held a Professorial Inauguration Ceremony on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Universitas Riau Student Center Building. The ceremony marked one of UNRI’s first academic agendas of 2026, reaffirming the university’s commitment to strengthening the quality of its academic human resources.
During the ceremony, the Rector of UNRI inaugurated eight professors: Prof. Ns. Bayhakki, M.Kep., Sp.KMB., PhD; Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin, S.T., M.T.; Prof. Dra. Yenita Roza, M.Sc., PhD; Prof. Setra Hainul Putra, S.Si., M.Sc., PhD; Prof. Ir. Eni Yulinda, M.P., PhD; Prof. Dr. Daeng Ayub, M.Pd., PhD; Prof. Dr. Ir. Mulyadi, M.Phil; and Prof. Dr. Erdianto, S.H., M.Hum.
Speaking on a separate occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau, Dr. Hj. Alvi Furwanti Alwie, S.E., M.M., stated that professors play a vital role as key drivers of knowledge development and research, while also strengthening academic contributions with broad societal impact. According to her, the inauguration reflects Universitas Riau’s commitment to continuous growth as a robust academic institution.
Furthermore, Dr. Alvi added that the inauguration of the professors is expected to further strengthen Universitas Riau’s role in advancing higher education, research, and community service at both regional and national levels.
This professorial inauguration serves as an important milestone for Universitas Riau in enhancing its academic capacity and cross-disciplinary scholarly development. With the addition of professors from diverse fields, UNRI is expected to contribute more tangibly to the advancement of knowledge, the improvement of higher education quality, and sustainable community service initiatives.
