The Faculty of Economics and Business at Riau University held the WMM Exhibition on December 3, 2024, at the FEB Lecture Building. The Wirausaha Merdeka Mandiri (WMM) program at FEB Riau University is part of the implementation of the Kampus Merdeka initiative, which is a strategic flagship program designed to develop students' entrepreneurial potential and spirit.
Riau University initiated this program to foster an entrepreneurial spirit independently within the university environment. The encouragement of independent growth starts from each study program and faculty. The contribution of study programs and faculties is seen as the most effective platform for fostering entrepreneurship, as they are the units closest to the students. This program includes entrepreneurial learning activities such as Refreshment Classes, Empathy and Problem Research, Creating Business Ideas, Business Idea Validation, Mentoring, Business Matching Day, and Evaluation.
The Wirausaha Merdeka Mandiri program offers students learning experiences to improve managerial and financial competencies, technology adaptation, creativity actualization, adaptability, and the development of skills to create products that meet the needs of society. Students will also actively develop their creativity and entrepreneurial innovation by participating in various well-designed programs. Through these strategic, innovative, and collaborative activities, the program aims to enhance students' leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and other soft skills that are essential for the future.
