Pekanbaru, April 30, 2026 – As part of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UNRI)'s commitment to environmental sustainability, the FEB UNRI Tree Bank provided tree seedlings to the Economics Faculty English Club (EFEC) FEB UNRI as a form of support for the "Environmental Socialization" activity to be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the FEB UNRI Judicial Hall.
This activity aims to raise environmental awareness among students and the entire FEB UNRI academic community. Various tree seedlings, such as durian, matoa, and sugar palm trees, as well as other woody trees, will be planted as part of the campus greening initiative. This activity is expected to enrich the campus's biodiversity while positively impacting the surrounding environment.
The FEB UNRI Tree Bank program is an integral part of UNRI's Green Campus, which aims to create a greener and more sustainable campus. In addition to beautifying the campus environment, this program also contributes to nature conservation and supports broader climate change mitigation efforts.
In his statement, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Hj. Alvi Furwanti Alwie, S.E., M.M., expressed her support for this program:
"This Environmental Socialization initiative is a strategic step in providing education and sharing good practices with students. We hope this program will raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation, not only on campus but also in everyday life for every individual. FEB UNRI is committed to creating an environmentally friendly campus and supporting joint efforts for the sustainability of the earth."
The "Environmental Socialization" activity is expected to not only significantly contribute to strengthening UNRI's green campus but also serve as a positive example for the surrounding community regarding environmental management and preservation.
