Taxpayers, Don’t Forget to File Your Annual Tax Return (SPT)! 📝💼

1. What is DJP and what is its role in Indonesia's tax system?
DJP, or Direktorat Jenderal Pajak (Directorate General of Taxes), is a government institution responsible for managing and overseeing the tax system in Indonesia. The roles of DJP in the Indonesian tax system include:

  1. Tax Management
  2. Tax Supervision
  3. Tax Services
  4. Tax Policy Development
  5. Coordination with other agencies, such as the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and other institutions.

2. Why should the public pay taxes?
Taxes are the most important source of state revenue to support the country's needs. Taxes also provide funding for the government to implement various programs and public services. Overall, taxes support the sustainability and progress of the country and ensure that the public's needs and interests are met.

3. What are the tangible benefits of taxes for the public and the country?
Benefits of Taxes for Society:

  1. Enjoying infrastructure and public facilities funded by the government, such as roads, schools, and places of worship. Accessible public transportation is also a form of tax benefit.
  2. Access to health services, such as through the BPJS Kesehatan program, which allows people to access healthcare more affordably, and helps low-income families receive free healthcare.
  3. Easier access to loans from banks, as having an NPWP (Taxpayer Identification Number) is often required for large loan applications. It also helps banks assess a potential customer's ability to pay taxes.

Benefits of Taxes for the Country:

  1. The highest source of national income, from income tax, VAT, luxury goods tax, land and building tax, excise, and other taxes. These revenues are returned to the public in the form of public facilities such as health services, public transport, and education.
  2. Financing national expenditures, including goods, employee salaries, capital expenditure, subsidies, debt interest, and transfers to regions.
  3. Supporting the country's economic stability by helping both the central and regional governments manage policies for price stability, thereby reducing inflation.

4. Can you explain the tax reporting services available at the FEB UNRI Lecturer Building?
The Tax Center of Universitas Riau (UNRI) provides assistance for Annual Tax Return (SPT) reporting at several main locations, including the FEB UNRI Lecturer Building. This service helps the public, particularly UNRI lecturers and staff, fulfill their tax obligations on time and according to regulations. The service is also available at other locations such as KPP Madya Pekanbaru and the Gobah Building. For more information on service schedules and reporting procedures, you can contact the Tax Center UNRI via their official Instagram @taxcenter_unri. For 2025, the Tax Center has expanded to assist various faculties such as FMIPA, FISIP, FAPERTA, FAPERIKA, Nursing, and Law. The services at the FEB Lecturer Building are available from 08:30 AM to 03:00 PM WIB. This service helps not only with individual SPT reporting but also with EFIN activation and NPWP registration through Coretax.

5. Who can use this service?
This service is available to anyone with an NPWP, tax slip, and who wishes to report their Annual Tax Return for either an income above or below 60 million IDR per year. The service can be accessed at the FEB Lecturer Building, D3 Taxation program, and the nearest KPP such as KPP Madya Pekanbaru.

6. What types of taxes can be paid here?
As tax volunteers, we are authorized to assist with the reporting of individual Annual Tax Returns using forms such as SPT 1770S (for taxpayers with gross income above 60 million IDR per year) and SPT 1770SS (for taxpayers with gross income below 60 million IDR per year). Additionally, we can help with EFIN activation and assist taxpayers who have forgotten their EFIN, password, email, or phone number. However, our role is not to assist with tax payments but to help with online SPT reporting through the DJP online website.

7. What is the procedure for tax payment at this location?
As explained in point 6, tax volunteers do not assist with tax payments. However, taxpayers can make payments independently via the DJP online website (https://djponline.pajak.go.id). The process involves:

  1. Creating a Billing Code: Taxpayers must generate a billing code for tax payment through the DJP portal by providing the required information (NPWP, Tax Type Code, Tax Period, and the amount of tax to be paid).
  2. Payment: The tax payment can be made through various channels such as ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, or at designated bank/post office counters.

8. Are there any documents or requirements to bring?
To use the SPT reporting assistance service, taxpayers must bring their NPWP and tax slip (from their employer or other entities that withhold taxes). For EFIN activation or data changes (e.g., phone number or email), taxpayers should also bring their NPWP and ID card (KTP).

9. Is there any additional cost to use this service?
No, there are no additional costs for using this service. All services, including SPT reporting assistance, EFIN activation, and data changes, are free of charge.

10. Until when is this service available, and is there a plan for an extension?
The service will be available until the end of the Annual Tax Return reporting period, which is March 31, 2025. If necessary, it will be extended until the end of April 2025.
