The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the University of Riau, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Riau Regional Infrastructure Development Agency (BPPW Riau), conducted a handover of the utilization and management of the new building on August 27, 2024.
The Rector of the University of Riau (Unri), Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti MSi, in her speech explained the history of the construction of the new building. The planning phase of this building began in 2016, when Prof. Sri Indarti was still serving as the Dean of FEB. The construction process was closely monitored until her term as Dean ended in 2022 and continued through to her current role as Rector of Unri.
“We are committed to optimizing the use and management of this building to create a comfortable and strategic learning environment for students,” said the Rector. She also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) for equipping the building with facilities for people with disabilities and wastewater treatment installations (IPAL). The Head of BPPW Riau, Abdul Halil Kastella ST MT, also outlined the stages of the building’s construction.
“The construction of this building was completed with the 2023 budget, and the Final Handover was conducted on June 14, 2024,” explained Abdul Halil.
The Dean of FEB Unri, Dr. Alvi Furwanti Alwie SE MM, stated that the completion of the new building would bring a renewed spirit to FEB in providing representative and comfortable learning spaces for students. “It is our duty to manage and maintain it well,” said the Dean.
Accompanying the event were the Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Agus Sutikno SP MSi; the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar MPhil; the Head of the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), Bochari ST MT; as well as leaders, teaching staff, and educational staff from FEB. From BPPW Riau, the Head of the Riau Province Infrastructure and Settlement Implementation Work Unit, Dwiatna Singgih Raharja Sabaris ST, was also present.
