Responding to the Challenges of Student Scientific Writing, FEB UNRI Updates Thesis Writing Guidelines

Pekanbaru, April 9, 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Riau University (FEB UNRI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving academic quality by refining the thesis writing guidelines for undergraduate students. This effort was realized through a Thesis Writing Guidelines Revision Team Meeting held in the Meeting Room of the FEB UNRI Dean's Building on Thursday (April 9).

The meeting was led by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Deny Setiawan, S.E., M.Ec., along with the Thesis Revision Team, who intensively discussed the substance of the thesis writing guidelines to ensure they are more relevant to current academic developments and student needs.

In his remarks, Dr. Deny emphasized that updating the thesis guidelines is a strategic step to ensure the quality of students' scientific work is maintained and able to keep up with the ever-evolving dynamics of science.

"This guideline revision is not merely an administrative update, but an effort to ensure that students have clear, systematic guidance that aligns with the latest academic standards. We want the quality of FEB UNRI student theses to improve, both in terms of methodology and substance."

Dr. Deny added that the adaptive guidelines will assist students in writing scientific papers that not only meet graduation standards but also contribute to the development of science.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNRI, Dr. Hj. Alvi Furwanti Alwie, S.E., M.M., on a separate occasion expressed her support for the ongoing revision process. According to her, updating the thesis guidelines is a crucial part of maintaining the quality of graduates and strengthening the faculty's academic reputation.

"We encourage these thesis guidelines to truly address current academic challenges, including developments in research methods and scientific writing. This is part of FEB UNRI's commitment to producing superior and competitive graduates."

FEB UNRI hopes that the new thesis writing guidelines will serve as a more comprehensive, applicable reference, aligned with national and international academic standards, while supporting the continuous improvement of the quality of students' scientific work.
