Pekanbaru, April 7, 2026 — A warm, familial, and meaningful atmosphere characterized the Halal Bihalal gathering of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Riau (FEB UNRI). This gathering coincided with the retirement of three of its best academics: Drs. Wahyu Hamidi, M.Sc., Dr. Drs. Hendro Ekwarso, M.Sc., and Toti Indrawati, S.E., M.Sc.
This event was more than just a post-Eid al-Fitr gathering. It conveyed respect, appreciation, and gratitude for the long dedication these three individuals have given to building, strengthening, and advancing the Department of Economics, FEB UNRI. This moment also served as a space for collective reflection, recognizing that the journey of an institution is inseparable from the role of educators who have devoted their thoughts, energy, and dedication over decades.
In a friendly atmosphere, all attendees reminisced about the contributions and legacy of service left by the retiring lecturers. Their dedication is reflected not only in their academic activities in the classrooms and academic services, but also in their student development, departmental strengthening, and the exemplary work they have left for the next generation within the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UNRI.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Riau University, Dr. Hj. Alvi Furwanti Alwie, S.E., M.M., expressed her highest appreciation and respect to Drs. Wahyu Hamidi, M.Si., Dr. Drs. Hendro Ekwarso, M.Si., and Toti Indrawati, S.E., M.Si. She stated that retirement is not the end of their service, but rather marks the end of a long journey that has been of great significance to the institution.
